The Khmer Rouge overran  the ancient capital of Udong in March 1974. An estimated 20,000 people were led off into the countryside; some were executed, the rest put to work. Lon Nol Republican forces retook Udong in July '74 after much heavy fighting. These photos were taken between October 1974 and January 1975.
