ETAPP

ETAPP English Language Center at 9, Rue de Pologne, near the Olympic Stadium, was the first and only school of its kind in the Khmer Republic with native speaker English teachers. It had 6 classrooms, 700 students at its peak, and a branch in Battambang. It finally closed down on April 10th, 1975. The directors, Samuel Jackson III and Egon Rassow Jr., burned all the school documents and students’ photographs, and left on April 12th, five days before the Khmer Rouge arrived.
