Apsara (with Om Yuvanna)

The lead dancer here was Voan Savay. She survived the Pol Pot era and made her way to the Thai border and Site II, where she started up dance classes in the camp. ​Voan Savay is in the centre. She identified the dancers in this photo as: (L-R) Om Bounthorn (died under Pol Pot); Om Yuvanna (living in Phnom Penh, teaching at RUFA); Chhun Nora (died in Paris); Sem Muntha (died in Phnom Penh 2-3 years ago); Amon (died under Pol Pot); and Pech (died under Pol Pot).
